As I was watching the Russian-language broadcast of one of the rounds of the Candidates Tournament, I was curious to hear how Evgeny Sveshnikov studies newly encountered opening positions.
His algorithm is as follows:
- check his own games
if none found
- check good GM games
if none found
- check Houdini
